The Sunset at Yellowstone

One of the amazing examples of HDR photography on Flickr, this one by Stuck in Customs. I only like them when the colours are believable and attractive, like these.
The presence of a lot of over-saturated mush out there gives the tonemapping technique a bad name, but things like this show just how deliciously subtle it can be in the right hands. As for HDR photos- we have yet to see one, though tommorows monitors may well have the required colour depth (16-48bit colour, whereas today the maximum is 6-10 bit).

Antelope Canyon

Another favourite photo from flickr, this time from a spot in the Grand Canyon that attracts many photographers. I always love Anna Munandar's views of things and this is no exception- it just has that special touch! What is it that makes her photos stand out? I think it's her curiosity to see the world anew, but also her warmth, which somehow colours each image. It's a strange thing, but the person taking a photo is always somehow in it too.
